The Family Machine for sa£e
March 7, 2008
After a good few months of releasing free download singles (kind souls) sending CDs attached to helium balloons way up into the sky – and meandering across the country delighting all with their mix of blissed-out melodic pop hits awash with indie sensibilities – The Family Machine are finally for sale! With their particular brand of acoustic-ish loveliness having been reported to have ‘made love to my ears in a sample infused urban folk dream’ by one enthused onlooker, and famed for making many more rather moist – it is with great pleasure that we at Alcopop can announce that you genial champs can own their debut album.
For a mere seven shiny gold coins in our shop, you can pre-order the 12 track stunner “You Are…” (out 17th March) and wallow in pre-Summer loveliness from Oxford’s finest. Why not – The forthcoming album was recorded with producer Ian Davenport (credits include Badly Drawn Boy, Supergrass and Athlete) at Radiohead’s Courtyard Studio, they’ve shared the stage with Midlake, Young Knives, The Leaves and Mojave 3, good reviews are pouring in – and they count Colin Murray amongst their fans – which is awfully nice.
Jamie, Jay, Darren and Neil have been described as “acoustic guitars, bass, drums, multi-part harmonies and a sampler stuffed full of goodies… Post hedonist, pro-community warped genius” by channel4.com and “my new favourite band” by the BBC Radio Oxford. Check them out here…
You are… The Family Machine!
