In sadder news, today – Gretna FC (the little Scottish village team who captured hearts and minds on an unprecedented rise to the top flight) have splashed into liquidation, shattering the dreams of many starry-eyed football fan who still believed that with a little bit of backing, and a whole bucket-load of passion, one’s team could rise against the odds to glory!

Someone should make a film about that….
