Thanks for all the comments chaps!
We’re pretty busy with a few releases at the moment and the release schedules ever so busy, but have listened to all your stuff…
Filipe, man was your demo the yellow one? I did quite like it – not really our stuff I’m afraid mate (a bit too ambient), but was well impressed with the packaging – it looked really sweet.
Ed – the Lookout Joe CD was cool as well… I’m originally from Coventry and its nice to hear some indie stuff thats coming from Godiva’s fair city that moves away from the standard scene a bit… Ben Folds(y) indeed
And Matt – real feelgood stuff with edges of DSP i think… If I’m around for your jericho date i’ll try to pop down to have a bit of a dance

Much Love

Hey guys. Just wanted to drop by and say how awesoime it is that you’ve signed Cut The Blue Wire. Definately the best band to come out of Portsmouth since The Strange Death Of Liberal England. Ooh anyone reading this shoulkd checked out a new band Sweden I just read about in Drowned In Sound. They’re called Surrounded and just got a 9/10 for their album. It’s kinda similar to flaming lips and shoegazer stuff like Sparklehorse.
DO IT!

Hello Alcopop Records
Im in an indie garage band in Cheltenham just wondering if you’d take a look at our myspace site and have a listen and let us know what you think. The recordings pretty ropey but you get a gist of the songs any feedback would be great. Also if you know how the hell we could get a support slot anywhere in Bristol would be helpful because it seems impossible.
Thanks for your time

A new download service for indie labels. Get tracks up for sale in an instant.
Hello, and good day.
Sorry for the random message but we really think we might of use to you guys. Like yourselves we were running a small indie label and got so tired of iTunes & co taking so long to do anything for us we decided to do something about it. So, we set up BigSong.co.uk which is far quicker, simpler and pays more.
BigSong.co.uk sells your tracks online. Just sign up, upload your music & artwork and we´ll instantly create a URL link or html button to add to your various web pages. It´s free to sign up and we take a 20% cut to cover our costs, far less than most major service providers… and much quicker and simpler. We pay you via PayPal, direct into your account or by cheque… it´s your call.
Thanks for your time… we hope you stop by sometime soon.
Cheers
The good guys at Big Song.
*Payment only in British Pounds at the moment, sorry!

Hi Alcopop
Looks like you have a great little label going there. Bandit A&R Newsletter researches and publishes new information every month about labels, manager, publishers and producers that are ready to sign new music so if that’s you I’d like to include Alcopops in my next issue. just go to the website and click request a feature in the nav bar

Bloody loved your article about ‘Cool Runnings’ over at The 405…what a film! I remember having to stay up once while visiting a friend to catch the first train home at 4am, and we decided on re-watching Cool Runnings as our weapon of choice to try and stay awake. It didn’t disappoint…

Hello there!
I’m writing you on behalf of the Red Roosters rock and roll band.I hope you will be able to catch some time to listen to our work because I think you won’t regret it.
I think we would perfectly match your label since our music is essentially old school rock and roll with a modern touch for a mass appeal.
Here’s the link to check it out.

Hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely yours

Hi Alcopop. I just stopped by the Website having heard of your label when I was reading up on the Family Machine, had a listen to their record and really enjoyed it.
Would love to heard what you think of my band’s tunes, we’re called The Patriots (www.myspace.com/thepatriotslive). We’re based in Glasgow and been playing lots of shows about the city over the last year – but we’d love to branch out so if you ever wanted to throw us a show down in your neck of the woods any time we’d be well up for it!
Cheers

Hello Alcopop.
Just thought I’d stop by and say hi and wondered if you fancy listening to some of our stuff. We have an ep (and a couple of other bits) up on Bandcamp which you can listen to and download for free. We’re currently writing and recording another ep / mini album which will hopefully be out around the end of September / October and we’ll hopefully have some gigs lined up for around Oxford soon as well.
Take it easy,
Ian

Dear Alcopop department,
We are a French group called Popular Mechanics, and first we would like to apologize but as we are located in France we aren’t able to send you a physical demo on a CD. Would you be so kind as to listen, even to our first EP, A Good Flight on Deezer. Should you be satisfied with these first songs, we could consider sending you a proper demo. You can find us on Myspace, Facebook, Deezer & iTunes.
Best regards,
Popular Mechanics.

Thanks Tallulah Fix – I like these things about you very much
a.) your personalised approach
b.) the fact you said ‘brass tacks’
c.) America by Razorlight is playing behind me, and you are obscuring that…
Seriously though – not quite right for us at the moment chaps, but it is sounding promising.. Good luck with it all xx

Tallulah Fix | October 20, 2010 at 9:06 pm
Cheers for ur reply Alco much appreciated. If our only purpose in life was to drown out Razorlight we would be making a very positive contribution to music. Maybe we are a little strong for Alcopop? Im off to find the label ‘Special Brew’
Keep up the good work
